The first day will take place on August 16 in the Basic Sciences blockfrom 8:30 am to 9:00 pm in continuous hours. Then, on August 22, there will be another day in Health Sciences. With the above, all students, administrative staff and teachers of our alma mater are invited to join this important blood donation initiative.

According to the National Institute of Health, In Colombia, 93.8% of total blood donations are voluntary. Even so, in Quindío, Around 1,500 people need blood transfusions every month.Since blood cannot be manufactured or obtained from any other animal, we depend on donations from humans to meet this demand. That is why these blood donation days are held, so that those who wish to do so can donate the equivalent of 450 ml. It is important to note that the body recovers quickly from this donation and benefits are obtained, such as generating new cells in our body, preventing various diseases.

The Colombian Red Cross Quindío Section and the University of Quindío call on the university community and all people committed to the health and well-being of society to participate in these blood donation days. The solidarity and generosity of donors will help save lives and guarantee the blood supply in Quindío. Remember that with a small unit of donated blood you can make a big difference in the lives of others.

Don’t miss the opportunity to help, donate blood, donate life!
