After its 2016 premiere, Sausage Party quickly became the highest-grossing R-rated animated film of all time, managing to make about $100 million more than it actually cost to make the film. Needless to say, given its success, it’s no surprise that there are plans to expand the world with a sequel, though it won’t be a feature-length sequel, but an animated TV show due out next year on Prime Video. While production on the show titled Sausage Party: Foodtopia is still ongoing, as Collider reports, co-creator Seth Rogen recently spoke about the series. In a statement, Rogan outlined how rowdy the show will be, noting that some parts are “unbelievably shocking.” Rogen even took note of some of the cast’s reactions to the series and the dialogue, adding: “We had Kristen Wiig pick up a few lines the other day, and I think we’re all getting into it. Insensitive, because we’d just say, ‘Roll the scene!’ and she’d be like, ‘Oh my God?! This is crazy!’ There’s no set date yet for when Sausage Party: Foodtopia will arrive on Prime Video.
