Sausage industry plans to expand its investments and increase its sources of work

Asuncion, IP Agency.- Representatives of the Van Hessen company, dedicated to the manufacture of natural casings for sausages, announced their intention to expand their operations under the maquila regime and the hiring of more operational personnel.

The company, located in the city of Limpio, Central department, currently generates 230 direct jobs with projections of reaching 300 jobs by the end of the year.

In a meeting with the Vice Minister of Industry, Lorena Méndez, they announced that in the coming months they plan to open a new factory that promises to be a model of production under the maquila regime.

“Van Hessen’s work is mostly manual, which generates a high level of direct employment. We are very pleased that foreign companies like Van Gessen choose Paraguay to establish such important industries in our country,” said Natalia Cáceres, executive secretary of the National Council of the Maquiladora Export Industry (CNIME).

He explained that the factory produces approximately 8 million casings per year, and has exported nearly USD 10 million under the regime. The company operates in the markets of Brazil, Argentina and the European Union.

He also said that the company’s commercial activities have contributed significantly to the opening of new export markets, according to the latest report on the maquila regime for July.

“Van Hessen’s expansion within the national territory not only reinforces its commitment to Paraguay, but also promotes industrial development and job creation in the region, consolidating the country as an attractive destination for foreign investment,” says the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
