Saúl Canelo Álvarez vs Gennady Golovkin Triple G Result

A marathon evening that ended with a great fight that caught on in the last rounds at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Saúl Álvarez retained the super middleweight titles of the CMB, AMB, OMB and FIB when imposed on Gennady Golovkin.

Triple G, 41 years old versus Canelo’s 32, failed to beat the Mexican in a high-flying fight but had the Kazakh quite respectful in the first rounds, enough for the judges to give the championship to Álvarez who sought to knock out his opponent from the beginning and only in the end was the fight even.

The evening began with several preliminary fights that heated up the atmosphere, but the Arena fell apart only when the Mexican appeared on the screens preparing to enter the ring.

And at the time of the night of the central combat, the T-Mobile in Las Vegas fell apart to receive Canelo, in a tremendous show that had from a Michael B. Jordan in the ring to an exciting entrance of the Mexican boxer with nothing more and nothing less than the mariachi Alejandro Fernández singing in Spanish.

With blunders for Golovkin and cries of love for the Mexican, the fight began with a first round in which both respected each other, but in the following rounds it was Saúl Álvarez who took the lead and the leading role in the Las Vegas ring, with GGG little awake before the attacks of the four-time world champion.

Already from the third round age began to weigh on the Kazakh, while Canelo held his 32-year-old pace for a few moments, but in the sixth round the blows were matched by Golovkin’s first dares.

While Canelo incessantly sought the KOGennady did the complete opposite and was careful not to get knocked out in the first round.

After the first 8 rounds, Golovkin was able to land a couple of blows and respond to the Mexican who went down in the last minutes, already more tired of not being able to knock out his opponent and with the Kazakh taking a second wind towards the end.

The last rounds were more fought and even favorable for Golovkin, but it was too late and after both were quite tired at the end, the judges gave Canelo the victory. by cards 115-113; 116-112; 115-113.

The trilogy was not what the attendees expected, which already in its total remains with a draw in 2017 and two victories by decision of the judges in 2018 and now in 2022.
