The Fourth Guarantee Court of Santiago ordered the arrest of the brothers Daniel and Ariel Sauer, as well as their partner Rodrigo Topelberg, within the framework of the investigation into the Factop case, which in turn led to what is known as the “Audios case.”
According to Cooperativa radio, Sauer and his partners are being investigated for alleged bribes to officials of the Internal Revenue Service (SII) and the Financial Market Commission (CMF), in addition to a series of tax crimes.
The decision arose following a request from the Public Ministry, arising in response to the investigation carried out by the Eastern Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office.
In this way, Daniel Sauer Adlerstein, Ariel Sauer Adlerstein, Alberto Sauer Rosenwasser, Rodrigo Topelberg Kleinkopf, Darío Cuadra Junes and Luis Flores Cuevas were arrested as defendants.
The Public Ministry is investigating alleged crimes of fraud, document falsification, money laundering, among other crimes.
The prosecutor of Las Condes, Juan Pablo Araya, reported that “the defendants did not allocate the funds raised in the factoring operations that they claimed to carry out, but instead used them for other purposes not declared to their clients, simulating the factoring operations through an issuance of false invoices, both from companies of which they were partners and also from other companies whose owners were third parties related to the accused, thus creating the appearance of a serious and solvent business.”
Yesterday only the formalizations of Alberto Sauer and Darío Cuadra were carried out, who were placed under the precautionary measures of house arrest and national roots.
Likewise, today, starting at 9:00 a.m., the hearing continues with the discussion on the precautionary measure of preventive detention for the other defendants: Daniel and Ariel Sauer, their father Alberto and Rodrigo Topelberg.
SII complaint
It should be remembered that the Internal Revenue Service (SII) filed a complaint for the crime of facilitating false tax documentation, associated with the Factop case, which originated following the leak of an audio from lawyer Luis Hermosilla, in which an alleged payment was discussed. of bribes to public officials.
