The Saudi woman said she was advised by a foreign manager not to sit within eight hours of working hours, whether users were present or not. ‘His fellow male employees and managers are at work. However, it has been advised not to sit at work even when there are no users’, the woman said.
The video of the young woman secretly telling one of the users that the manager had removed the chair to prevent her from sitting during her eight-hour long work has been circulating on social media.
The Saudi woman, who was assigned to receive customers at the restaurant’s entrance, was barred from sitting by the foreign manager during her duties, which lasted from 2pm to 11pm.

The Saudi citizen complained to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development that the foreign manager was forbidding the woman to sit on duty. The ministry said it had intervened in the matter and taken necessary steps. The ministry added that it has directed the company to create the required working conditions for its employees.
