Yambu: Training programs for the volunteers of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority are intensified. The Saudi Press Agency reported that 918 training programs were completed this year alone and 1,13,000 people benefited from them. Saudi Red Crescent Authority spokesman Abdulaziz Al-Suwain said that educational institutions in the country have organized first aid training, awareness programs on ways to manage illnesses that require emergency intervention, and training on what to do first before the arrival of emergency teams in the event of a disaster.
The spokesperson pointed out that Red Crescent’s programs are working to save more people in danger and mitigating disasters and the awareness programs of the authority are achieving tremendous benefits in the society. Of the 214 training programs recently conducted by the Authority, 52 were organized in Al-Qaseem region. 704 awareness lectures were held in the eastern region of the country.
‘A Safe School’ campaign was organized to introduce the basic lessons of first aid to teachers, other employees and students of educational institutions. As part of the campaign conducted by the authority last year under the title ‘Saving a Soul’, it got the Guinness World Record for training 9836 people in first aid within 24 hours. He was awarded a Guinness World Record that day for training the public in the use of an automated external defibrillator, a device that helps people suffering from sudden cardiac arrest.
