Saudi player reveals the truth about the crisis of the “lost Egyptian player” in the Seine River

The Egyptian Rowing Federation came out to deny this news, but some Egyptian channels and accounts published a photo claiming that it was of the Egyptian player who “got lost” during the rowing competitions at the “Paris Olympics.”

In this context, a Saudi player named Kariman Abu Al-Jadayel clarified the truth behind the circulated photo, which Egyptian channels and accounts said was of Egyptian player Aya Al-Sayed.

Egyptian player Aya El Sayed

Abuljadayel wrote on her official account on the “X” platform, on Tuesday evening: “The photo – circulated about Aya Al-Sayed – is my photo.. I am a Saudi rower and my name is Kariman.”

Abuljadayel warned against circulating her photo with news about Aya Al-Sayed, questioning the existence of an Egyptian player with that name in the first place, participating in the Olympic Games, due to the conflict in the news between confirmation and denial.

The Egyptian Rowing Federation issued a statement confirming that there are no athletes with this name affiliated with it participating in the 2024 Summer Olympics, noting that it is participating with only 3 players (Abdul Khaleq Al-Banna, Ahmed Khaled, and Mohamed Qouta).

The Egyptian Federation called on everyone not to be led by false news and to obtain news from its official sources.

Kariman Abu Aljadayel is a Saudi runner who competed in the women’s 100-meter race at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She was the first woman from Saudi Arabia to compete in this event, before transforming from a runner to a champion in rowing.
