Saudi government allows schooling for children of irregular residents – Labass.net

The children of irregular residents in Saudi Arabia will be able to enroll in schools for the new school year, the Saudi Ministry of Education announced on Tuesday, quoted by the Al Arabiya news channel.

Schools should provide parents residing illegally in the Wahhabi Kingdom with admission forms and encourage them to contact the offices of the Ministry of Education in the region where they reside.

Once the admission forms are approved, they must be presented to the relevant school officials to continue the enrollment process for their children.

The Ministry of Education has instructed its various departments to provide the General Administration of Assessment and Admission with a monthly statistical report on the number of students enrolled in each school district.

In order to enroll their children in school, parents who do not have adequate documents or who are staying irregularly on Saudi soil are required to present the child’s official identity documents as well as their own, to the like a passport, a residence permit or a tourist visa. They must also provide their permanent address and contact details.

In addition, parents in an irregular administrative situation must also undertake to regularize their stay during the school year by means of a document which clearly stipulates this.
