The official Saudi News Agency quoted the head of the Saudi Armed Forces Training and Development Authority, Major General Adel bin Muhammad Al-Balawi, as saying, “This participation comes within the training guidance of the armed forces for the training period (1446 AH – 1447 AH), for joint and mixed exercises inside and outside the Kingdom, in order to develop… Training and qualifying members of the armed forces and acquiring training skills.”
He added, “The armed forces represented by the ground forces, naval forces, air forces, and air defense forces participate in the exercise with actual forces,” pointing out that “the joint Saudi-Egyptian exercise, Piercing Arrow 2024, aims to enhance military cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries and develop joint action.” And achieving operational harmonization between the Saudi and Egyptian armed forces.”
It is noteworthy that the Egyptian army forces carry out many military maneuvers with a number of countries on its territory on an ongoing basis, including Russia, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and a number of European countries, with different names for each maneuver.
