Jeddah: In the wake of the Russia-Ukraine war, there is no shortage of food in the country, said Abdurrahman al-Fadli, head of the Saudi food security department. He added that there is a good supply of food available in the local market at present.

The country has taken steps to maintain the stability of domestic supply in line with its food security strategy. Al-Fadhouli, who is also the head of the Food Safety Committee, said the supply chain of agricultural, livestock and food products was secure and reliable, taking into account the volume of domestic production and the high adequacy of many goods. It is also the result of multiple global import sources of imported goods that are preventing supply shortages due to the crisis.

He added that wheat, rice, sugar, edible oils, poultry, meat, fish, eggs, milk, fruits, vegetables, dates, nuts, corn and soybeans are all sources of nutrients. He said everything was safe and there was no fear of any downfall.

Al-Fadhli said the country’s handling of the Kovid epidemic and its followingmath overcoming the current crisis should be followed as there has been no supply shortage in Saudi Arabia’s food commodity markets. He added that Saudi Arabia is one of the best countries in the world in terms of food prosperity.
