Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud met with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari and Army Chief General Asim Munir in which to increase economic cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan in the defense sector. The need was emphasized.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was met by Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud today at the Prime Minister’s House in which Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir were also present.
In the meeting, bilateral issues, regional peace and security and the security situation in the region were also discussed in terms of promoting cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense and security.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed good wishes to the Custodians of the Two Harams, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Muhammad Bin Salman Al Saud.
Talking to the Saudi Defense Minister, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have long-standing deep brotherly relations which are getting stronger with time and Pakistan values its relations with Saudi Arabia very highly.
He said that Saudi Arabia has fully supported Pakistan on all fronts and during my tenure as Prime Minister, Saudi Arabia played a key role in improving the economic situation of Pakistan.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have a long-standing brotherly relationship based on common religion, history and culture and the Saudi royal family has a special place in the hearts of Pakistani people.
Referring to the Special Investment Facilitation Council, the Prime Minister said that with the establishment of this Council, a one-window operation has been established for investors, which has facilitated business and investment.
He said that Pakistan has vast investment opportunities in agriculture, minerals, information technology and other sectors and there is a need to increase economic cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan in the defense sector as well.
Shahbaz Sharif told the Saudi Defense Minister that we are looking forward to the visit of your elder brother and Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman to Pakistan.
The Prime Minister congratulated the Saudi Defense Minister on receiving Pakistan’s highest civilian award Nishan Pakistan while the Saudi Defense Minister congratulated the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on assuming office and expressed his best wishes.
The Saudi defense minister said that he thanked Pakistan for inviting him as the chief Alex Reed in the Pakistan Day parade and today’s parade witnessed the best performance of Pakistan’s forces.
He said that the recent visit of Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir to Saudi Arabia will further promote the defense relations of the two countries.
Saudi Defense Minister meeting with the President and Army Chief
After that, President Asif Ali Zardari met the Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
In the meeting, President Asif Ali Zardari reiterated the determination to work together in various fields between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and further promote bilateral cooperation.
He said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Saudi Arabia and the fraternal relationship between the two countries consists of common faith and historical ties.
While thanking Saudi Arabia for supporting Pakistan in difficult times, the President also appreciated the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the vision of Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman.
On this occasion, the Saudi Defense Minister said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have a long history of strong strategic and defense cooperation and both countries should work together and support each other to strengthen the relationship.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Minister of Defense and Defense Production Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al Maliki were also present in the meeting.

Prince Khalid bin Salman and the Army Chief discussed issues of mutual interest, promotion of bilateral relations and ways to increase cooperation in various fields, especially in defense.
