The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the cultural attaché building in Sudan was “stormed” and “vandalized” on Tuesday by what it described as an “armed group.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the armed group “sabotaged devices and cameras, seized some of the attaché’s property in Khartoum, and disrupted its server systems,” according to a report published by the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”.

Violent battles are taking place in Sudan on Tuesday between the forces of the two warring generals over power, despite a truce that is regularly extended without commitment to it, while the international community warns of a “catastrophic” humanitarian situation.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry condemned the storming of its cultural attaché building, and called for “respecting the sanctity of diplomatic missions and punishing the perpetrators,” renewing its call to stop the military escalation.

At the end of April, Riyadh organized several evacuations from Sudan, which so far included regarding five thousand people, who are Saudis and citizens of more than 96 nationalities, according to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A state of chaos has prevailed in the Sudanese capital since the battles broke out on April 15 between the army, led by Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the Rapid Support Forces, led by his deputy, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as “Hemedti”.

The battles in Khartoum and other regions, especially Darfur, resulted in more than 500 dead and 5,000 wounded, according to official statements that are believed to be much less than reality.
