Saudi Crown Prince bin Salman cancels visit to Japan Business forum between the two countries collapsed

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman has canceled a visit to Japan scheduled for this weekend, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) said yesterday (17th).

The Japan External Trade Organization said on the same day that a business forum in Japan and Saudi Arabia scheduled to be held on the 21st was canceled because the delegation led by Crown Prince bin Salman did not come to Japan.

However, it did not comment on the reason for the cancellation of the visit to Japan by Crown Prince bin Salman.

In this regard, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno told reporters, “Nothing has been decided regarding Crown Prince bin Salman’s visit to Japan.”

“The relationship between Japan and Saudi Arabia is very important in that they are important strategic partners,” Minister Matsuno said.

Previously, Crown Prince bin Salman met with South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol in Seoul yesterday (17th), and the two countries agreed to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of energy, defense and construction.

In particular, Saudi Arabia signed investment contracts worth 30 billion dollars with Korean companies on the occasion of Crown Prince bin Salman’s visit to Korea.

According to Saudi Arabia’s state media, Crown Prince bin Salman paid a state visit to Thailand, where the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministers’ Meeting will be held following visiting Korea.
