Commenting on the ban on showing the movie “Spider-Man” Across the Spider-Verse in cinemas in the Kingdom, the Saudi cinema confirmed that it will not allow or license any film that contradicts the content controls in force in the system of the General Authority for Audiovisual Media and its implementing regulations.

And the Saudi cinema said, in a statement on its Twitter account yesterday, Tuesday, “Out of our keenness on the safety of the content shown in cinemas, and our responsibility towards the viewers, we would like to note that we will not permit and authorize any film that contradicts the content controls in force in the audiovisual media system.” and its executive regulations, unless the production companies commit to implementing the required amendments.

A few days ago, the Saudi cinema tweeted a post bearing a poster of the famous movie and wrote, “Always take the news from its official sources… The commission has not yet received a request to clear and classify the movie #SpiderManAcrossTheSpiderVerse.”
