The president of Saudi Arabia’s Football Federation, Yasser Al-Mashal, has said that hosting the FIFA World Cup 2034 is very meaningful for his country.

Saudi Arabia on Wednesday expressed its intention to host the 2034 Football World Cup, while the president of the Asian Football Confederation has also called for Saudi Arabia’s full support.

He said the intention of hosting the 2034 World Cup is an invitation to the world to come and “see the development of Saudi Arabia, see the welcoming society, prosperity, civilization and be a part of history.”

If Saudi Arabia is awarded the hosting duties, it will be the third time in FIFA World Cup history that the World Cup will be held in Asia. Earlier, the World Cup was held in South Korea/Japan in 2002 and in Qatar in 2022.

In a statement issued by the Asian Football Confederation, President Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa has also announced his support for Saudi Arabia to participate in the hosting race.
