Saudi Arabia to host the 2027 Asian Cup

“Let’s congratulate the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) on being selected for the tournament Asian Cup 2027. This is the first time Saudi Arabia has this honor. I hope SAFF works with the government to organize a memorable tournament,” Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, AFC President, said at the conference yesterday.

Prince Abdul Aziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Sports Minister and President of the Olympic & Paralympic Committee, said: “It is a historic and honorable moment to be chosen by AFC as the host country of the 2027 Asian Cup. Saudi Arabia. will take the opportunity to promote and welcome all fans.”

Saudi Arabia overcame India and Qatar, the host country of the 2022 World Cup, in a spectacular way to win the race that lasted from 2020. Previously, India withdrew in this race on December 5. 2022. Qatar will host the 2023 Asian Cup.

Asian Cup 2027 is the 19th tournament organized by AFC for 24 men’s football teams in the region. The tournament was expanded from 16 to 24 teams in 2019. The Vietnam team led by coach Park Hang-seo reached the quarterfinals that year and lost 0-1 to Japan.

In front of the Vietnamese team is the 2023 Asian Cup with a new strategist. Mr. Philippe Troussier is likely to be appointed in February 2023 to lead the national team and U23 Vietnam.

In the Asian Cup 2023, Vietnam is in the second seed group with China.
