The International Fencing Federation approved Saudi Arabia as the host country for the largest fencing tournament in the world, the “World Fencing Championship for Juniors and Youth 2024”, where the flag handing ceremony was concluded in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv, announcing that the Kingdom will host the championship next year following the State of Bulgaria.

This hosting comes following the General Assembly of the International Fencing Federation voted last November to choose the city of Riyadh to host this great global event with the participation of more than 1,500 male and female players representing more than 100 countries around the world, and more than 400 people representing the administrative and technical staff, including referees, coaches and working committees.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Fencing Federation, Ahmed Al-Sabban, congratulated the leadership on the unlimited support enjoyed by the sports sector in the Kingdom in general, which is reflected in the development of the level of the various games and Olympics in the Kingdom.

The President of the Saudi Fencing Federation also appreciated the great effort and interest that the Federation received from the Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, to host major sporting and international events.
