Saudi Arabia.. The number of security personnel and the size of the attendance in Muhammad Al-Issa’s sermon at the Arafa stand after “calls for a boycott” provokes an interaction

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Activists on social media circulated photos and videos of the large attendance of the sermon on the Day of Arafa at the Namira Mosque, which was delivered by Muhammad Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, head of the Association of Muslim Scholars, which provoked an interaction.

Activists shed light on pictures of the large number of worshipers following the “boycott calls”, where the owner of the account of Salman bin Hathlin published pictures in a tweet in which he said: “The scene of pilgrims in the Namira Mosque following the boycott calls assures you that everyone is tired of being led behind those rented beards calling for extremism. And the deviation from the group! Glory be to those who made their efforts a ‘scourge on them’, for they gave us a living example of their lack of influence and that those who support them are just illusory accounts that have no weight.”

Regarding the number of security elements during the sermon of Arafa and its link to the person of Muhammad Al-Issa, activists circulated pictures of Arafa sermons during previous years, highlighting that it is a routine security measure.

The appointment of the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, as a preacher for the Day of Arafa in Saudi Arabia, sparked wide reactions on Twitter, as a number of tweeters welcomed the choice of a “centrist” preacher to address people on this religious occasion, while some went to criticize this choice.
