Saudi Arabia sets Korite Day

Unable to see the lunar crescent this Saturday, the Saudi Royal Court has set the date for the Korité.

The Saudi Royal Court, in a press release, said that the Supreme Court’s Crescent Moon Observation Commission has decided that tomorrow Sunday will be the last day of the holy month of Ramadan for this year 1443 AH. And so, next Monday will be Korité day.

“On this occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr, the Supreme Court congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, HRH the Crown Prince, all citizens, residents and Muslims, praying to Allah Almighty Powerful to accept from Muslims their fasting, night prayers and all good deeds, and to preserve the security, stability and prosperity of the Kingdom,” reads the press release.

“Astronomical calculation level, it is not possible to see the lunar crescent but we want to check with the naked eye through our vision devices, wanting by this, to apply the Prophetic tradition”, had declared the astronomer Saudi Abdullah Al-Khudeiri.
