Saudi Arabia sets date for submitting official bid to host 2034 World Cup

Six cities have been decided to host the World Cup, namely (Riyadh – Jeddah – Dammam – Neom – Abha – Qiddiya).

FIFA is scheduled to announce next December which country will host the 2034 World Cup.

According to the Saudi newspaper Al-Ekhbariya, Saudi Arabia will submit today, Monday, July 29, the official candidacy file to host the 2034 World Cup to the International Federation of Association Football, after the blessing of Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, of the Kingdom’s candidacy file and the completion of all the details and requirements for the file.

It is worth noting that the application submission ceremony will take place during an official ceremony held by FIFA in the French capital, Paris, through an official delegation headed by Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and President of the Saudi Football Federation, Yasser Al-Misehal, and two children from the regional training centers of the Football Federation.

The selection of the two children to participate in submitting the nomination file came as an initiative by the Saudi Football Federation, embodying the ambition of the young Saudi generation to host the most prominent sporting event in the world of football.

The Saudi newspaper Al-Ekhbariya confirmed earlier that an official delegation from FIFA will visit Saudi Arabia next September to see the cities of the Kingdom before announcing the host of the 2034 World Cup at the end of this year.

The newspaper added that the official FIFA delegation’s visit to the Kingdom in September will be to three cities: Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.

At the same time, Badr Al-Qadi, Deputy Minister of Sports, said earlier: “Neom, Qiddiya and Abha will have large stadiums and new sports stadiums that will be part of the 2034 World Cup bid file.”
