Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Saudi Ministry of Health announced the registration of the first case of monkeypox on its territory for a person returning from outside the Kingdom, in the capital, Riyadh, according to what was reported by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The ministry reassured the community by saying that the case is “subject to medical care in accordance with the approved health procedures,” stressing that it has “counted all contacts, and none of them showed symptoms.”
The Saudi Ministry of Health also confirmed “its continuation of its monitoring and follow-up work on the developments of monkeypox, and the transparent announcement of any cases that are monitored,” and expressed its readiness and ability to deal with the symptoms of this disease.
The ministry recommended everyone to “follow health guidelines, especially during travel, through its official channels, as well as the Public Health Authority (Prevention), or to communicate with the (937) center in case of any inquiry regarding monkeypox disease,” according to Wass.
