The Saudi Press Agency reported that “the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the presence of Advisor to the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, provided food aid to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, represented by the Hashemite Jordanian Charity Organization, to be delivered to the Hashemite Jordanian Armed Forces (the Arab Army) and relevant authorities, to deliver it to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip via an airdrop operation, as part of the Saudi popular campaign to provide relief to the Palestinian people in the Strip.”
SPA explained that “this aid comes as a continuation of the Kingdom’s recent delivery of parachutes and nets dedicated to airdrops of humanitarian aid, weighing 30 tons, to the Hashemite Jordanian Armed Forces and relevant authorities, to support and assist the humanitarian efforts made by the Jordanian government to deliver aid to the Gaza Strip and alleviate the severity of the humanitarian crisis there.”
It is noteworthy that “since the beginning of the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, the Center has launched a popular campaign via the “Sahem” platform to provide relief to the brotherly Palestinian people in the Strip, and the volume of its donations has reached more than 700 million Saudi riyals to date.”
Saudi Arabia also launched an air bridge, from which 54 planes have arrived so far, and a sea bridge, from which 8 ships have arrived so far. The Palestinian Red Crescent in the Gaza Strip was given 20 ambulances equipped with the latest first aid equipment, 30 electric generators, and 10 water tankers, in addition to the passage of more than 500 convoys through the Rafah border crossing so far.
While the volume of in-kind aid provided by the center to the Gaza Strip amounted to more than 6,546 tons of various relief materials, the center also signed 5 agreements with several international organizations to provide relief to the Palestinian people in Gaza, with a total value of 80 million and 750 thousand US dollars.
SPA stressed that this comes as an “extension of the keenness of the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to deliver urgent humanitarian and relief aid to the affected areas in the Gaza Strip in various possible ways and methods, to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip in light of the current humanitarian crisis it is going through.”
