Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Yasser Al-Mishal, president of the Saudi Football Association, revealed, on Wednesday, that an invitation had been sent to the heads of Saudi clubs in all grades, to attend the World Cup finals at the end of this year.
The Qatari capital, Doha, will host the 2022 World Cup, between November and December.
Al-Mishal said in media statements following the Saudi Federation’s regular general assembly: “At the direction of His Highness the Minister of Sports (Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal), we invited the club heads to attend the World Cup. Al-Mishal explained that the Saudi Federation is working in coordination with the Ministry of Sports to ensure the departure of a number of Saudi fans to Qatar, to support their country’s team.
