Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Yasser Al-Mishal, president of the Saudi Football Association, revealed, on Wednesday, that an invitation had been sent to the heads of Saudi clubs in all grades, to attend the World Cup finals at the end of this year.

The Qatari capital, Doha, will host the 2022 World Cup, between November and December.

Al-Mishal said in media statements following the Saudi Federation’s regular general assembly: “At the direction of His Highness the Minister of Sports (Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal), we invited the club heads to attend the World Cup. They are working now and making great efforts, especially at the level of the Football Association, and this Their team, everyone’s team, and I think that calling them is the least duty.”

Al-Mishal explained that the Saudi Federation is working in coordination with the Ministry of Sports to ensure the departure of a number of Saudi fans to Qatar, to support their country’s team.

Regarding the suspension of the Saudi Roshan League competition so that the Greens might prepare for the World Cup, Al-Mishal said: “We did not stop the league because some leagues stopped, but rather because the coach needed this period, in light of the presence of 7 foreign players and the Saudi players do not find enough opportunity to play, and this was in coordination with the League.”
