Saudi Arabia Imposes Heavy Fines for Violating Government Decisions on Product Prices and Construction Permits

Manama> In Saudi Arabia, huge fines will be levied from companies that violate the government decision and sell products at higher prices. The Saudi Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing has announced that a fine of 5000 to 100,000 Riyals (regarding Rs. 22 lakh) will be imposed along with the difference with the retail market price. A fine of 10,000-50,000 Riyals will be imposed on construction projects that start without permits. Excavation companies without an authorized consulting office will be fined between 6,000 and 30,000 riyals. Micro enterprises need to pay 25 percent of the fine, small enterprises 50 percent and medium enterprises 75 percent. Large firms must pay the full fine.
