Political experts confirmed in a news analysis to the Chinese “Xinhua” agency, that President Sisi’s visit at this time to Riyadh comes within the framework of “the Egyptian-Saudi conviction to develop the structure and system of relations” between the two countries.
Dr. Tarek Fahmy, Professor of Political Science at Cairo University, said, “Egypt and Saudi Arabia have strong relations… and they are the pillars of Arab national security… and I believe that this visit will have very positive and important repercussions for the two countries.” Strong to strengthen the Egyptian-Saudi partnership.
He added, “The economic relations between the two countries are going well…noting that the political and strategic dimension of the visit anticipates any economic dimension at this time.”
He added, “President Sisi sent messages from Saudi Arabia that Egypt is strongly present in the security of the (Arab) Gulf, and this is an important matter that reflects the indications of the direct Egyptian interest in the security of the region and stops other threats.”
President Al-Sisi visited Riyadh, where he and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud held a separate session of talks, followed by an expanded session that included the delegations of the two countries.
According to a joint statement issued at the conclusion of the talks, the two sides affirmed the unity of the position and common destiny towards all regional and international issues and developments of common interest, and stressed that “Arab security is an indivisible whole… and the importance of full Arab solidarity to preserve Arab national security… and rejected any attempts to regional parties to interfere in the internal affairs of Arab countries or threaten their stability.
For his part, Dr. Mokhtar Ghobashi, Vice-President of the Arab Center for Political Studies, said that the Egyptian-Saudi talks confirm the sustainability of the partnership between the two countries, explaining that there are several reasons for President Sisi’s visit to Saudi Arabia, including discussions regarding the extremely critical general situation on the international and regional arenas.
He pointed out that the visit witnessed discussions on all issues in the region, pointing out that the meeting of Arab foreign ministers is a completion of the coordination that took place during this visit.
In turn, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoumi, considered President Al-Sisi’s visit to Riyadh important, and said that the joint statement issued at the conclusion of the visit represents a roadmap for resolving the chronic crises in the region, as it includes clear positions towards the region’s overall crises.
Al-Soumi said that the constructive talks between King Salman and President Sisi came at a very important time that requires strengthening Arab solidarity, especially in light of the current state of instability in the international system and its repercussions on the Arab region.
The Arab official stressed that Egypt and Saudi Arabia represent a safety valve to protect the security of the Arab region and a mainstay for achieving stability in it.
