Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)—The Ministry of Human Resources in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia decided to change the work system for 4 days, and that the weekend be 3 days, following interaction between activists on social media.

In a statement carried by the official Saudi Al-Ekhbariya channel, the ministry said: “There is no truth to what has been circulated in the media regarding the ministry’s intention to study the issue of reducing working days,” adding that “what the ministry is studying is the work system and it conducts a periodic review of the regulations in force with the aim of increasing job vacancies and raising the attractiveness of jobs.” The market for local and international investments.

The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Al-Rajhi, had commented regarding the intention to change the work system to 4 working days, saying: “Our goal is to create jobs in the new system,” and he continued: “There is a study of the labor system and the goal is for the Kingdom to be attractive to investors. He added that it is important when setting working hours for the market to be attractive and create jobs, and stressed: “Today we are keen that the new system is attractive to jobs and thus create more jobs.”
