Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Activists on social media circulated the Saudi authorities’ announcement of the arrest of a resident who had published content that “violated the sanctity of private life.”
And the Saudi General Security page on the social networking site, Twitter, published a picture of the person following his arrest, without showing his face.
The Public Security page said in its tweet: “The Makkah Region Police arrested a resident who documented and published visual content that includes words that violate the sanctity of private life and religious values.”
She added, “He was arrested, regular measures were taken once morest him, and he was referred to the Public Prosecution.”
