Saudi Arabia announces the detection of the first case of monkeypox

Today, Thursday, the Saudi Ministry of Health announced the detection of the first case of monkeypox for a person returning from outside the Kingdom, in the city of Riyadh, according to what was reported by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The ministry reassured everyone that “the case is subject to medical care in accordance with the approved health procedures, in addition to that, all contacts were counted and none of them showed symptoms.”
The Ministry confirmed its continuation in the “monkey pox monitoring and follow-up work on the developments of monkeypox and announcing in all transparency regarding any cases that are monitored,” noting its readiness and ability to deal with any development of the disease.
And the Saudi Ministry of Health recommended everyone “to follow health instructions, especially during travel.”
