Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Social media activists circulated video clips from an episode presented by the American comedian, Trevor Noah, in which he touched on the style of the Saudi national team coach, French Hervé Renard, with the national team players.
This came during the “Daily Show” program presented by Noah, where he said: “For example, the coach of the Saudi national team, he is in fact French who does not speak Arabic, but the Saudi translator does not speak French, so when the coach got angry at the team’s performance in the first half, he was He has to yell at them in English so that the interpreter can yell at them in Arabic.”
Noah showed a clip of the Saudi coach, saying following him: “This is the magic of the World Cup. A French man shouts in English at Saudi people because of an English sport. This is wonderful…”
He added, “I also wonder if the translator is imitating the coach so that he does not lose friends to him, so he says, ‘You are terrible. You should be ashamed of yourself.. This is what (the coach) said.. Because you know me, Mahmoud. I love you. ..”
