The head of the Tax Administration Service (SAT), Raquel Buenrostro, clarified that the dependency she charged never directly asked companies for proof of tax status of their workers.

In an interview for MILLENNIUM TelevisionRaquel Buenrostro explained that the companies recently began to ask their workers for said document because with the entry into force of the 4.0 invoice, which was extended until 2023, two specific data are required.

If you know this data, you do not have to ask for proof

According to the head of the SAT, sand any worker knows his postal code and your company name, the boss or the employer does not have to demand proof of tax status, “much less condition their payment”

“It must be clarified that the SAT never requested proof of tax status, why would we want it? (…) Unfortunately the problem occurred in companies with very large payrolls“, he explained.

On the contrary, if the worker does not know the two data mentioned above, the document that contains this information is the proof of tax situation“but it is not that the SAT asks for it”, he stressed.

“If any worker knows their zip code and their company name, the employer does not have to require proof of tax status, much less condition their payment. (…) Six months were given and the reality is that they began to ask for them in July“, he added.

25 years of the SAT

Regarding the 25th anniversary of the SAT, Buenrostro said that in terms of collection, in the last four years they have felt “very calm”since you said, have managed to meet the revenue goal each year, “we have maintained it despite not raising taxes,” he stressed.

Regarding the complaints for tax evasion, the head of the SAT announced that they have six resolutions, of which three already have a prison sentence; however, for legal reasons, she did not give more details.
