SAT exceeds collection goal

MEXICO CITY (El Universal).— During the first half of 2024, tax revenues collected by the treasury through different taxes exceeded the established target.

According to information from the Tax Administration Service (SAT), 2 trillion 526 thousand 306 million pesos were collected in taxes. This meant that 251 thousand 220 million pesos more entered the federal government’s coffers compared to the first six months of 2023, that is, a real growth of 6.1%.

With this, the SAT exceeded the amount budgeted in the Federal Revenue Law (LIF) approved by the Congress of the Union for the first half of this year, by collecting 100.1%.

For the agency, this is the result of the implementation of the Master Plan for Inspection and Collection, which has allowed for a level playing field in the collection of taxes without the need to create new ones or increase existing ones.

Breaking down the income by type of tax, it is noteworthy that through the ISR, 1 trillion 434 thousand 509 million pesos were collected. This resulted in 55 thousand 898 million pesos more than the same period of the previous year.

The amount derived from VAT collection totaled 670,865 million pesos in the period referred to, which is 61,345 million pesos more than what was collected between January and June of last year.

Meanwhile, the IEPS recorded a collection of 314 thousand 78 million pesos, leaving 122 thousand 298 million pesos more in nominal terms compared to the same period in 2023.
