Sat close to a violent man’s girlfriend: Got a speaker in his head

AALBORG:A 26-year-old man, who is currently serving seven months in prison for another case of violence, can look forward to having to sit in prison for another three months.

The court in Aalborg decided this on Thursday followingnoon.

The man has received a so-called additional penalty in connection with the previous penalty.

During a drinking session on November 25, 2021 in Aalborg, the 26-year-old man thus threw a loudspeaker at the head of another man, so that the victim subsequently had to be stitched nine stitches over the right eye and had an additional gash of one and a half centimeters in the head as well as a large skin abrasion on one cheek.

The reason for throwing the floor speaker was that the victim was sitting too close to the 26-year-old’s girlfriend.

The reason the case was not settled with the previous matters was that the witnesses had not appeared at the original hearing.

For today’s court session, the witnesses had been arrested in advance, to be sure of getting their explanation.

One of the witnesses was thus on a video link from Greenland, and the time difference of four hours meant that the trial dragged on a bit.

The 26-year-old pleaded not guilty, but received the three-month prison sentence.

In addition to being charged with physical assault of a particularly brutal or dangerous nature – throwing the loudspeaker – the man was also charged with having tried to set fire to an entrance door in an apartment in Aalborg.

But he was acquitted of that, as it was not only proven that it was the 26-year-old who had tried to light the fire, even though witnesses had heard his voice in the hallway.
