Under the terms of the agreement, São Paulo will explore and drive the adoption of Falcon Large Language Models (LLMs) and Falcon-based solutions, as well as support the use of Falcon in its digital ecosystem across multiple use cases. Furthermore, São Paulo will encourage organizations and entities to join the Falcon Foundation and contribute to the advancement of open source Falcon models. The partnership marks a significant step in exporting Falcon’s state-level capabilities beyond the Middle East, laying the foundation for global cooperative initiatives that will define the future of technological innovation.

In expressing optimism regarding the alliance, His Excellency, Faisal Al Bannai, Secretary General of ATRC, said: “The signing of this agreement underscores ATRC’s dedication to international partnerships in the AI domain to maximize its benefits. Working side by side with the government of São Paulo, we hope to support the adoption of Falcon’s innovative solutions across multiple organizations across the country and define a pioneering model of international cooperation to shape the future of AI.”

Similarly, the Secretary of Management and Digital Government of the State of São Paulo, Mr. Caio Mário Paes de Andrade, said: “We are excited to begin this innovative partnership with ATRC as we join forces to seamlessly integrate state-of-the-art Falcon AI models into São Paulo’s technology infrastructure and government services. Our joint efforts are poised to spur global innovation and pave the way for transformative advances in the field.”

Falcon LLM, a world-leading open source AI model, is part of the Falcon series of powerful broad language models developed by the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), the applied research arm of the ATRC. ATRC and its commercialization arm, VentureOne, launched a pioneering AI company, AI71, in November 2023 to provide specialized AI models to clients (companies and countries) while giving them the option of decentralized data ownership. Both TII and AI71 provide vital channels for deploying the Falcon series of LLMs.
