Santosh Trophy knock-out stage set to be held in Saudi Arabia in February next year

AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey and Secretary General Shaji Prabhakaran signed the MoU with Saudi Arabia.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) is considering holding the Santosh Trophy knockout matches in Saudi Arabia early next year. The competitions will be held in February next year. AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey and Secretary General Shaji Prabhakaran signed an MoU with Saudi Arabian representatives to explore the possibilities in this regard.

AIFF said in a statement, “The choice of Saudi cities to host the finals of the Santosh Trophy is to encourage our players to dream big, connect the Indian community in Saudi Arabia with Indian football and create a win-win situation for both federations.”

The agreement is a result of the efforts of the football federations AIFF and SAFF to provide an opportunity to establish a strong bond between the Indian communities centered in Saudi Arabia and India through football culture and to enhance cooperation between strategic partners in Asia. Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) President Yasser Al Mishal and General Secretary Ibrahim Al Qasim signed the agreement on behalf of Saudi Arabia. The agreement was signed in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Including all technical support and organizing competitions for men and women on a regular basis.

AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey said that this is a commendable development for Indian football. Kalyan Choubey said that our aim is to create a new platform for Indian football and spread it among Indian fans across the world and thanks SAFF for their active cooperation in achieving our goal.
