Finland’s outgoing Prime Minister Sanna Marin is ending her three-year marriage to husband Markus Räikkönen. They announced on Instagram on Wednesday that the two have jointly filed for divorce.
“We will be grateful for 19 years together and remain great friends,” she said. Sanna Marin and Markus Raikkonen, who officially got married in 2020, have a five-year-old daughter. Markus Raikkonen is also a businessman and former professional footballer.
Sanna Marin was the youngest Prime Minister in the world when she took office in 2019. However, in the elections held in April, her party won more seats, but her allies suffered a crushing defeat. Although her government has currently resigned, Sanna Marin remains as caretaker prime minister.
