Sanju Samson Fastest Player to Hit 200 Sixes in IPL: Match Recap and Rankings

Delhi: Rajasthan Royals skipper and wicketkeeper Sanju Samson has a rare record. Sanju became the fastest player to reach 200 sixes in Indian Premier League Twenty20 cricket.

Sanju’s entry into the record took place during the match once morest Delhi Capitals. Sanju became the first Indian to hit 200 sixes in 159 balls. Former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Sanju broke Dhoni’s record of 200 sixes off 165 balls. Virat Kohli hit sixes in 180 balls and Rohit Sharma in 185 balls. Former Chennai Super Kings player Suresh Raina has hit 200 sixes in 193 matches. Sanju reached 199 following hitting Khalil Ahmed for a six. After six balls, Samson hit six more.

Sanju is the 10th player to hit 200 sixes in IPL. Chris Gayle, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, MS Predecessors are Dhoni, David Warner, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell and Suresh Raina. The Malayali star hit 200 sixes off 3081 balls. Dhoni faced 3,126 balls and Rohit faced 3,798 balls. Against Delhi Capitals (86 including six sixes and eight fours in 46 balls), Sanju might not win the side. Sanju was dismissed in a controversial catch by Shai Hope off Mukesh Kumar. Delhi Capitals beat Rajasthan Royals by 20 runs.

Batting first at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi scored 221 runs for the loss of eight wickets. In response, Rajasthan scored 201 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Khalil Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each and Akshar Patel and Rasikh Salam took one wicket each for Delhi. Rajasthan Royals are in the second position with 16 points from 11 matches. Kolkata Knight Riders are the first with so many points from so many matches. A good net run rate (1.453) puts Kolkata on top. Rajasthan’s net run rate is 0.476.
