In recent days, the carabinieri of the Randazzo vompagnia, in collaboration with the Nas of Catania, carried out hygienic-health checks on a bar located a few steps from the center of Bronte – the name of which was not provided by the police who carried out the checks – managed by a 28-year-old local woman. During the inspection, a serious irregularity emerged: the restaurant was using a non-compliant warehouse as a food warehouse.
In the room adjacent to the commercial activity, the soldiers found disused and dusty materials, set aside next to food products intended for the preparation of ice cream and fillings for croissants and brioches. Among these, there were 20 liters of oil stored in unsuitable plastic cans, without traceability certifying its origin and not stored according to the required hygiene and health standards.
Following these violations, the food products were immediately seized. The owner of the bar was sanctioned with two administrative fines for a total of 3,500 euros.
