Sandra Bullock doesn’t mess around when it comes to real estate. The Oscar winnerg-actor has spent the past few decades building an enviable portfolio to match her A-list resume. According to Dirtthe bird box star currently owns 17 properties located throughout the continental US, a mix of residential and commercial investments ranging from a Gothic Victorian home in New Orleans to a sprawling hilltop in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Bullock is famously private regarding her personal life; In the event, it is not publicly known when she purchased the Wyoming estate or really any details regarding it.

While Bullock called some of these properties “home,” there are several places that appear to have been investment properties from the start. Some details are not readily available to the public, suggesting Bullock may have purchased it through an LLC or other investment entities. Here, we have rounded up what we do knows regarding her extensive real estate portfolio, admitting that while this list is not exhaustive, it is quite impressive.

1997

Even though Bullock is undeniably Hollywood royalty, she enjoys spending time away from the spotlight. In April 1997, she dropped $575,000 on a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath house in Austin overlooking Barton Creek. In a May 1998 story for Texas Monthly, the star said she feels “a lightness” when she’s in Texas. “It’s the kind of place where I can feel normal once more,” she explained. Bullock the 5,633-square-foot home is listed for $2.5 million in 2012, and that sold for $2 million the following year.

Bullock also bought a 5.81-acre lakefront lot on Lake Austin in 1997, reportedly spending “millions” to custom-build a mansion on the site. According to Variety, however, she pulled out just days following moving in “over concerns regarding form and poor workmanship.” She sued the builder and was eventually awarded $7.8 million in damages in 2004. Since then, the main house has been destroyed, but now there are several smaller houses, as well as a two-story boathouse, on the property.

2000

When Bullock heads to the East Coast, she has a spacious Soho townhouse to call home. According to Realtor.compaid the actor $3.35 million for the 4,144 square foot single family home and apparently still owns the property, although she visits it less and less. The townhouse is probably worth a lot more now.

2001

In early 2001, Bullock dropped $1.49 million on a three-bed, three-bath Hollywood Hills ranch perched above the Sunset Strip, just a short walk from the famed Chateau Marmont. She finally sold the hilltop retreat for $2.925 million in 2018, which makes sense since she used it primarily as a rental property in the last few years of ownership, renting out the 3,153-square-foot pad for between $15,000 and $18,500 a month.

The main house on Bullock’s former Tybee Island, Georgia, features seven bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms.
