Bengaluru ∙ After ATK Mohun Bagan refused to renew his contract, Indian player Sandesh Jhinkan, who sought a new platform, will now guard the defense of Bengaluru FC. Bengaluru FC released the information regarding bringing Sandesh Jhinkan to the team through Twitter. Jinkan, who left ATK Mohun Bagan, was reported to be heading to East Bengal or Bengaluru FC. Meanwhile, Bengaluru confirmed the player’s inclusion in the team.
Jinkan, who played for Bengaluru FC on loan in the 2016-17 season while a Kerala Blasters star, is returning to the same team following a gap of five years.
“I have many interesting memories of playing here on a loan basis before. Many who were in the team then are still in the Bengaluru ranks. The team was able to perform well and produce a good result that day’ – Jinkan told ‘Times of India’ following the transfer to Bengaluru was confirmed.
