The Niger Government obtained a stay of execution of the sanctions imposed on the country before the UEMOA Court of Justice on November 16, 2023. On July 30, 2023, following the military coup which ousted President Bazoum, UEMOA took economic and financial sanctions against Niamey. On September 21, the government of Niger filed a request with the court of justice for a stay of execution.
