Madrid, Feb 23 (EFE).- The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will attend the emergency summit in Brussels tomorrow to analyze the situation in Ukraine, sources from the Executive have confirmed to Efe.

The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, has called an emergency summit of the Heads of State and Government of the European Union for tomorrow, Thursday, with the aim of discussing the latest events related to Ukraine and Russia

The summit will be held from 8:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m. GMT) this Thursday in person in the community capital, following the first package of sanctions established by the EU once morest Russia for undermining the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

Sánchez’s presence in Brussels will prevent him from attending the act of tribute and recognition to the island of La Palma following the volcanic eruption presided over by the king and queen.

Sánchez will attend the XXVI Conference of Autonomous Presidents in La Palma on Friday, accompanied by seven members of his Executive, including the second and third vice presidents, Yolanda Díaz and Teresa Ribera, respectively.
