San Jose Student Dies in Accident – NBC Bay Area

A San José family remembers an excellent athlete, a great son and brother.

Bryant Rosas, was coming back to San Jose from Kansas, last Tuesday. But he was going to stop in Colorado first, where a cousin lives. And there, it was where he was surprised by a winter storm that caused the accident that stole his life.

Héctor Rosas, Bryant’s brother, said that his brother “wanted to get to the family, he hadn’t seen us for five months and he already wanted to get home.”

With tears in his eyes, Héctor recalled the last words his brother dedicated to him “‘I love you’ was what he said to me and that I would look at him when he got home.”

Héctor and his mother shared with Telemundo 48 that Bryant never made it to his cousin’s house, but that they did receive a call the next day, letting them know that Bryant had had an accident.

Maribel Rosas, Héctor’s mother, visibly shocked by what happened, said that Bryant’s memory gives her strength “I know that he is giving me that strength from there, because I don’t even know how I’m standing.”

Bryant spent his senior year at Kansas, playing for Benecitine College, previously playing for San Jose City College.

The team posted a message on Twitter saying in part “we will miss your tan personality, your warm smile and the concerts you gave us in the locker room.”

“He was very happy, he loved to dance, he loved to come and relax in all places,” said his mother.
