This newspaper reviewed the government plans of the nine candidates who will contest the municipal elections in San Isidro. In addition to combating crime and reducing the sense of security, most of the applicants seek to implement vehicular transport control programs in relation to the noise pollutionimprove environmental management and encourage eco-responsibility in the district.

San Isidro will once once more be a safer district. We will build a modern communications center with a facial and license plate recognition system, linked to the police, Reniec and Sunarp. We will reintroduce integrated patrolling and we will have streets with greater public and ornamental lighting”, said Nancy Vizurraga, candidate for Popular Renewal,

For his part, Victor Bazán, candidate for Somos Perú, indicated that his management would launch a crime prevention system. “We will implement state-of-the-art technology to recognize the faces of criminals and vehicle license plates. We will install totems at the entrances and exits of the district. There are areas that are not well lit, both on the borders with other districts and on internal streets. This creates risk. We’re going to improve that.”he pointed.

The other points on which the candidates plan to focus are respect for zoning and urban parameters, improvement of green areas, access to health services for the elderly and complementary services for pets without discrimination.

We will implement a traffic and mobility monitoring center, and the parking rotation system will be expanded with preferential attention for Sanisidrino residents. In recreation and sports, we will build the municipal swimming pool and the San Isidro Club on the Costa Verde, with accessibility for our neighbors through cable cars and bicycle and pedestrian paths. We will expand the cycling network and residentiality will be defended by enforcing the parameters of zoning heights and density”, Vizurraga mentioned.

Meanwhile, Bazán said that his management would synchronize the traffic lights at intersections to improve vehicular flow and thus reduce the levels of environmental and noise pollution. “There is a lot of informal transport that also generates traffic, for that a correct control is needed. In addition, we will place traffic sensors at some traffic lights in order to boost vehicular flow. As for the bike paths, there are some that have been built without technical criteria. We are going to propose cycle paths that connect points of interest”, he added.
