The second transnational meeting of the “Move on” project is scheduled for today, September 25, and tomorrow, September 26, at the Fatebenefratelli Institute in Genzano di Roma. The project is dedicated to the rehabilitation of patients through personalized programs of physical activity and exercise practiced in specific areas within social-healthcare facilities. The Move on project is co-financed by the EU under the Erasmus+ program, thanks to the application presented by the Fatebenefratelli office in Brussels “Hospitality Europe”. The project partners are the Fatebenefratelli center in Graz (Austria), the San Giovanni di Dio Foundation in Lisbon (Portugal), the San Giovanni di Dio Hospital in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Spain) and, for Italy, the San Giovanni di Dio Institute in Genzano di Roma. A delegation from the Purissima Concezione Foundation of the Hospitaller Sisters of Granada (Spain) is also participating. The original title of the project is “MOtivating patients to Voluntary physical Exercise Outside Nursing programmes” (acronym in English: Move on) and it is an Erasmus partnership with the aim of sharing and promoting in Europe the most effective programmes for maintaining psycho-physical health through regular physical activity carried out by the people assisted even after the completion of the cycles of therapy and care, accompanied by correct behaviour in the nutritional field, diagnostic prevention and respect for the environment.
The Move on project contributes to the EU initiative “HealthyLifeStyle4All” aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle for all generations and social groups, with the aim of improving the health and well-being of European citizens. In the transnational meeting in Genzano, the project partners will discuss their respective experiences of promoting physical activity and motor rehabilitation of patients in collaboration with local and regional public bodies.
