SAN FRANCISCO — LaMonte Wade Jr. singled despite center fielder Myles Straw’s attempt to catch him diving in the 10th inning and drove in Blake Sabol in the decisive run, and the San Francisco Giants rallied Monday to win 5 -4 to the Cleveland Guardians.
The victory places the Giants just half a game behind Arizona in the fight for the third wild card in the National League. San Francisco chained its fourth victory following a string of six defeats.
Cleveland suffered its third straight loss and remains seven and a half games behind Minnesota, which leads the American League Central Division.
