After starting the season with five victories, the San Francisco 49ers have now suffered a third consecutive defeat. This time, it’s in the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals with a score of 31-17.
Joe Burrow was relentless for the Bengals with 283 passing yards and 3 touchdown passes to lead his team to a third straight victory. His favorite target Ja’Marr Chase was spoiled once morest the Niners defense, catching 10 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Boyd and rookie Andrei Iosivas also caught majors.
Joe Mixon scored his second touchdown of the season late in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach for the 49ers with a five-yard run.
In the defeat, Christian McCaffrey was true to himself, scoring two touchdowns, one on the ground and the other passing. He also had 118 total yards in the game. It was his 17th straight game with at least one touchdown, which ties Lenny Moore’s mark in 1964.
Brock Purdy, who was bothered by concussion symptoms this week, threw for 365 yards with 21 completions. He also threw a touchdown pass and two interceptions.
For his part, George Kittle had his best game of the season with 149 yards on nine receptions.
The 49ers will have next week off, as the Bengals host the Bills in Sunday night’s game.
Seahawks avoid disaster

Gus Edwards scored three touchdowns and the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Arizona Cardinals 31-24.
Edwards scored two of those following interceptions by the defense.
