samuel rizal landed the role of a husband who has two wives in the horror film The Third Figure. Playing a character named Anton, Samuel competes with Erika Carlina (first wife) and Celine Evangelista (second wife).
“My role in Figure III is Anton, husband of Nuri, played by Erika Carlina and husband also of Yuni, played by Celine. Approximately this tells the story of a husband and two wives,” said Samuel Rizal when met at CGV Grand Indonesia, Thamrin area , Central Jakarta, Thursday (13/4/2023).
Playing the role of a husband who has two wives, Samuel does a lot of research and discussion. Once married, but Samuel had no experience of having two wives.
“Research required a lot of discussion. Incidentally, two weeks were prepared for reading workshops and deepening of characters. So there were lots of questions, lots of digging so that later it would become a beautiful film unit too. Because if you only play in skin, right, you’re already playing in 90’s settings , yes, just play it without getting into the feeling there is a bit difficult, the film is less beautiful,” he explained.
“Honestly, yes (there are difficulties). Even though I’m a widower, I’ve been married, being married is one wife. It means that discussion is what I’m talking about so that a lot of discussions can be incorporated into my daily life in the film,” he added .
Meanwhile, acting together with Celine Evangelista and Erika Carlina, according to Samuel Rizal, was very difficult. To act with Celine is not the first time, but with Erika it is the first time.
“Again, because we meet a lot reading and workshops, we already know Celine and Erika, we just met. Celine has met, but we don’t really play together, but we know each other. If Erika really just played together, it’s a wake-up call.” the chemistry,” he said.
To deepen Samuel’s character, he also changed his appearance. This time, he appeared longish and wore clothes and language that were popular in the 1990s.
“Here, my outfit is different because it was in the 90s, which means that it has to be adjusted. The style of talking to people in the 90s is also different now. It means that there is a challenge for me. Then in November, my hair was already a bit long, so I also had transform, not just bald.
So many changes from Samuel Rizal himself for the third figure,” he concluded.
The Third Figure is a film directed by Dedy Mercy, which tells the story of Yuni (Celine Evangelista) and Nuri (Erika Carlina), two best friends who promise not to steal each other’s partners. However, Yuni breaks her promise by performing a pellet ritual to win the heart of Anton (Samuel Rizal), Nuri’s husband.
Due to the influence of the pellets, Anton fell in love. Finally Nuri gave Anton permission to marry Yuni as long as Anton was being fair.
