On the morning of this Thursday, February 9, Inpec colonel Daniel Gutiérrez announced that the former mayor of Bogotá, Samuel Moreno Rojas, processed by the recruitment ‘carousel’, had a medical emergency for which he was transferred to the Military Hospital.
The medical center, through a statement, reported that the local ex-president arrived without vital signs.
According to the medical report, samuel morenosuffered an acute heart attack: “The patient brought by carabineros from the National Police (arrived) without vital signs. Advanced cariocerebropulmonary resuscitation and EP support is started.”
“Patient with return of spontaneous circulation and signs of post-resuscitation prefusion with echocardiographic evidence suggesting acute myocardial infarctionfor which he is transferred to the hemodynamics room for cardiac catheterization,” reported the Military Hospital.

Likewise, it was learned that Moreno presents a “severe coronary disease”, for which he was transferred to the Coronary Intensive Care Unit of the medical center, in order to continue with the work of medical support.
The former president remains under a reserved prognosis.
Who is Samuel Moreno?
Samuel Moreno Rojas was sentenced to 89 months in prison for the crime of embezzlement by appropriation, following confirming his participation in the hiring ‘merry-go-round’.
“He committed the crime of bribery (…) because he agreed to obtain great economic benefits in exchange for favoring the contractors who collaborated with money and politically in his campaign to be elected as Mayor of Bogotá,” says the sentence of 91 pages.
In the year 2022, the Supreme Court of Justice, from its Criminal Chamber, reduced the sentence of Moreno from 24 years to 11 years and 10 months in prison, related to the road network contract 006 of 2008, the valorization contract 180 of 2005 and the assignment of contract 137 of 2007 for Phase III of TransMilenio.
