Samuel L. Jackson Responds to Quentin Tarantino After His MCU Statements

Quentin Tarantino doesn’t like Marvel movies. The director of Pulp Fiction criticized the MCU on several occasions, each time reiterating his strong opinion on this universe of superheroes so popular with the general public. Recently, he also sent a nice tackle to the actors who play the Avengers. Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans or even Scarlett Johansson may be recognized talents in Hollywood, Quentin Tarantino doesn’t consider them movie stars… Which made Samuel L. Jackson react, who did not hesitate to respond to these comments!

Samuel L. Jackson VS. Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino believes that the stars of the MCU are the characters, not the actors who embody them! An opinion that neither superhero fans nor the actors concerned share, Samuel L. Jackson in the lead. The latter, who plays Nick Fury, the famous boss of SHIELD (without which, let’s remember, there would be no Avengers) for a good ten years, did not appreciate the director’s comments. During an interview with our colleagues from The Viewthe actor explained how he disagrees with the filmmaker, while paying tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther).

It takes an actor to play these particular characters, and the hallmark of movie stardom has always been, what, asses in seats? What are we talking regarding? It’s not a big controversy for me to know that apparently these actors are movie stars. Chadwick Boseman is the Black Panther. You can’t refute that, and he’s a movie star.

What Samuel L. Jackson means is that whatever the roles, when a character is emblematic, his interpreter is often associated with him. We can cite Wolverine and Hugh Jackman, Carrie Fisher and Leia Organa, Daniel Radcliffe and Harry Potter, Johnny Depp and Jack Sparrow, Linda Hamilton and Sarah Connor… So this is not a “problem” reserved for the MCU! And you, what do you think of this debate?
